Firas Nasr, founder of WERK for Peace and host of Dance Party Protests around the country will be coming to the Holy city to celebrate Spirit Day with CATS (Charleston Area Trans Support)!
Founded in response to the Pulse Nightclub shooting, WERK for Peace is a queer and trans grassroots movement that uses all forms of dance to promote peace. They bring the dance floor to the streets to occupy space and use our bodies to WERK for social justice. Their dance protests have taken place in front of the houses of Mike Pence, Ivanka Trump, and others to demand change around issues pertinent to the queer and trans experience.
