WERK in Solidarity: Celebrating Intersectionality & Resistance

  • Trump International Hotel 1100 Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest Washington, DC, 20004 United States

In response to Trump's egregious executive orders over the past week and a half, WERK for Peace and a number of organizations are teaming up to celebrate our diversity, intersectionality, and resistance and send a clear message to Donald Trump: discrimination, bigotry, and hate are not tolerated in our country.

We dont need #AlternativeFacts. Our hips dont lie and never had to. Instead, we embrace and honor the beautiful, magnificent truth of our intersectionality and the power our bodies have to claim space and assert:#WeAreHere and we are not going anywhere. An attack on one of us is an attack on all of us. We stand strongly in solidarity.

Get ready to move your bodies and booties to beats put together by our diverse community. Biodegradable glitter will make a re-appearance, as will rainbow paraphinalia. We will also have hand warmers.

We will meet at the Trump Hotel and parade to the White House. Now is the time to werk it for peace - together. Lets show Trump and his administration that their hate and discrimination are not welcome here.
